NXNEi: Community Moderators: Defending Your Brand and Creating Your Audience

On Wednesday, June 13th, I will be moderating a discussion as part of NXNE 2012′s interactive program. The panel will bring together professional community managers to discuss the importance of moderation and share some ‘horror’ stories from the front lines. The panel description follows:

Community Managers go by many names: content moderators, defenders of the internet, and ‘the stupid jerk who deleted my ‘yo-mama’ joke on the Moms and Tots Facebook page’. No matter their name, as the role of social media continues to expand and evolve in online campaigns, Community Managers have become incredibly valuable allies. This panel talks to experts in the field of community management and moderation services exploring the challenges involved in juggling their jobs as both professional Troll hunters and as purveyors of brand awareness. The panel also investigates how community managers and content moderators can work with your brand to create online messages and experiences that are truly unique and on point.
