Top Ten Reasons Why You Should Support Me in the Ride To Conquer Cancer

Date: February 1 2010 Filed in: , ,

Last year, my brother, sister and I participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer. We joined nearly 3,500 other riders in a 2 day bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls. This year, Jessica signed up to do the ride, making Team Herlihey stronger and better than ever.

Of course, in order to ride, I need your help. But, you may be asking yourself – “why, Dana, why should I donate to you?” Luckily I’ve compiled a great list of reasons to answer that very question! continue reading…

Things I Tolerate

to endure without repugnance; put up with: I can tolerate laziness, but not incompetence.

1. My dumb-phone.

Despite my love for all things apple, I can’t at this time in my life afford an iPhone. or any smart phone for that matter. At least not while my dumb phone is still under contract. So I put up with its 1 megapixel camera and lack of gps and t9 typing, all the while dreaming of the day of qwerty, touch screen, and a pocket clip.

2. The Crazy-to-hot ratio.
Simply put – the hotter you are, the increased likelihood of crazy. So us less good looking / lil bit saner people will put up with and support you emotional wackos because we accept you for who you are. And cos you’re nice to look at. And cos we’re totally stupid. continue reading…

Week in Review

Stolen from Kasia – 10 things that made my week awesome:

2. Project Management Fundamentals

I started school, and for once, the feeling of nostalgia didn’t give me heart palpitations. Perhaps because I was actually doing something I used to do, and loved, and was loving it again: I was learning. Ironically enough, I’m not in class, as I should be…

3. Miike Snow

Music Monday 092109

Date: September 21 2009 Filed in: , , ,

It strikes me as rather unfortunate that while there are a lot of great music videos out there, there aren’t a lot of channels dedicated to playing them on a consistent basis. MTV and Much Music seem more interested in pregnant teenagers and following the soon-to-be failed marriages of celebrity couples than they are with playing with quality music videos. This is upsetting because, while online videos are a great way to share, you can’t help but feel as if so many great music videos aren’t getting the respect they deserve as the very venues that claim to be dedicated to music videos have pushed music – and thus the art of music videos – to the wayside. But I digress, this is all a conversation best saved for another day. The point is, there is some brilliant work out there, in many different genres (both music and film technique) – stop motion being one. My recent project at work had me searching through quite a few stop motion videos for inspiration, so I thought I’d share some of my favourites. continue reading…
