This weekend I’m participating in The Ride to Conquer Cancer – a 2 day, 200 km bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls benefiting the Princess Margaret Hospital. Last year, during The Ride to Conquer Cancer, I kept friends and family informed of my team’s progress via Twitter. To be honest, there weren’t very many other riders using twitter as a means to update their progress. Last year, my brother, sister and I participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer. We joined nearly 3,500 other riders in a 2 day bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls. In 2007, both my mum and Patrick Swayze were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is one dirty motherfucker – it’s one of the worst types of cancer a person can be diagnosed with. The kind of cancer with a 5% chance of 5 year survival. The kind of cancer with a median survival from diagnosis to be 3 – 6 months.
