This weekend I’m participating in The Ride to Conquer Cancer – a 2 day, 200 km bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls benefiting the Princess Margaret Hospital. Last year, during The Ride to Conquer Cancer, I kept friends and family informed of my team’s progress via Twitter. To be honest, there weren’t very many other riders using twitter as a means to update their progress. Last year, my brother, sister and I participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer. We joined nearly 3,500 other riders in a 2 day bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls. This year, Jessica signed up to do the ride, making Team Herlihey stronger and better than ever. Of course, in order to ride, I need your help. In 2007, both my mum and Patrick Swayze were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is one dirty motherfucker – it’s one of the worst types of cancer a person can be diagnosed with. The kind of cancer with a 5% chance of 5 year survival. The kind of cancer with a median survival from diagnosis to be 3 – 6 months.
